More than 95 education leaders, school board officers and parent representatives met with NYS Senators John Flannigan, Carl Marcellino, and Philip Boyle along with NYS Assemblymen Joseph Saladino and Assemblywoman Kimberly Jean-Pierre at the annual Legislative Priorities that Western Suffolk BOCES held Jan. 22.
After school officials presented their wide range of legislative issues from the need to restore the Gap Elimination Adjustment and Foundation Aid to the impact of the CPI on school district budgets, the legislators addressed the Governor’s proposed budget and their interest in driving dollars back to local districts.
