Clark Gillies (r.), a retired Hall-of-Fame, NHL ice hockey player from the four-time Stanley Cup champion NY Islanders, recognized three students in the Cooperative Discipline program at JEA Elementary for their artwork. He will use their colorful drawings for his philanthropic foundation’s annual Celebrity Golf Tournament that raises funds to improve the quality of life for families with children in a time of crisis.
The students worked closely with their art teacher creating drawings that had a golf theme. First place winner Sean Solomon will have his drawing featured on the “Save the Date” card and tournament invitation as well as on other tournament correspondence. Second place winner Darwin Perez-Vanegas and third place winner Matthew Kreppein will receive Target gift cards for their winning entries! All 11 participants received signed photographs of Clark from his “Glory Days!”
