Culturally Relevant Children’s Literature and Lesson Planning for Elementary Classrooms 2-Day Workshop **IN PERSON** presented by Mishka Anderson – 8:30-2:30pm

Audience: Elementary Teachers Hello Inclusion has gathered a compilation of antiracist/culturally relevant children’s literature across all elementary grade levels that incorporates the stories of different groups and communities of people (Black, White, Hispanic/Latinx(o)(a), Asian, Indigenous, MENA, LGBTQIA+, etc.). During the workshop, teachers will get a chance to read these books, plan lessons or units of study based on the books. Teachers will be introduced to theories of culturally relevant teaching and antiracism and will learn how to have courageous conversations about race in their elementary classrooms. Eligible for 12 hours CTLE credit. Can use 2 Consortium seats. If district pays, district approval must be confirmed prior to start of session.
