WSBOCES Honors Staff with Outstanding Achievement Awards

Bids Farewell to Retirees

Following nominations by their peers, 16 employees of Western Suffolk BOCES received Outstanding Achievement Awards from the Board of Education at its meeting on June 11, 2019.

The honorees were celebrated by their co-workers, family and friends as each employee took a turn in the spotlight and accepted a token of appreciation from Board of Education President Salvatore Marinello and Chief Operating Officer Michael Flynn. Receiving recognition were: Elizabeth Lignelli, Nohora Aliaga, Paula Madden, Ruth Garcia, Kelly Blickhahn, Arthur Castellano, Barbara Maurer, Stacy Sullivan, Lori Lynt, Dana Caruolo Tur, Jacqueline Gordon, Theresa Zabransky, Lisa Carbone, Padmini Arora, Salvatore Figliolia and John Shiels.

The evening was bittersweet as well as the Board also recognized staff who recently retired/are retiring from Western Suffolk BOCES, a number of whom had more than three decades of service. The retirees who were honored were Joanne Balling, Dolores Beltrami, Arthur Castellano, Mayling Heilbrunn, Phyllis Hutzel, Paula Madden, Kathleen Oberg, JoAnne Rasmussen, Elizabeth Thaw, Anne Marie Wickes, Kim Wilson and Susan Wittenzellner.
